  2. On my car if you dial down the temp as far as possible so it shows "Lo" (and not a number) then it blows chilled air. On a really hot day and in a baking car it can take a couple of minutes to begin to feel the benefit but it does work. Seems to me that if you are setting a temperature like 17 then that is soon going to be reached so maybe that's why it cuts out so quickly?

  3. If the whining sound goes up in volume with rpm, could be water pump bearings, so inspect the water pump for any leakage, if possible, but it would be hard to see. When water gets into bearings, it washes out the grease, and will also start to drip from the weep hole, it's a sure sign the water pump is on it's way out. Another easier to spot sign would be white oxidation on or around the pump itself. Other than that, could be alternator bearings. If the seller agrees, you can just untighten the belt using the screw on the alternator, and check both of them for any play in bearings, or any weird sound, few minutes work.

  5. Some time ago I did ask on here re alloy wheel paint codes. I was reliably informed that they are/were not available and any franchised dealer alloy repairs were "farmed out" and a colour match estimated by comaparison to paint colour cards. Referring to Devon Aygo's post it would seem that codes were available but not accessible in the parts catalogue. Not only should dealers provide the code, if requested, Toyota should also make available rattle cans and touch up kits of the correct code and colour! I eventually found and used a BMW wheel colour, which was a very close match, and spray painted two wheels on the same side of the car. At least they were a perfect match for each other!

  6. As said above If 5 door, check you rear window hinges (see if you can move the glass away from the hinge top and bottom) I had the same on mine about 3 years ago. There is a recall so Toyota will fix for free. I didn't have time and simply re-glued myself using a glue similar to 'No nails' you cant see the repair and as I say about 3 years ago .....

  7. If the battery was that low then I would recommend (once a good or charged battery is fitted) totally disconnecting the battery for several minutes in order to reset the ECU. Uneven idle is to be expected whilst the ECU relearns the optimal operating values for the engine and that process may have been triggered by a very low battery condition. The normal idle speed itself can increase and decrease as the air con compressor engages and disengages.

  8. It will be heat staked together, if you can push it back together then you can use a soldering iron to melt the plastic back together

  9. I would expect that inset piece in your picture to be an integral part of the bigger door panel, so no clips that you can buy and replace. If it was made like an Auris door panel, then the fabric-inset-piece is attached by hard plastic pins (that are part of the bigger moulding) that are subsequently melted to form what looks like a rivet head. Like this Auris panel :- I think you have broken one of these 'rivets' (arrow) - perhaps by striking that panel hard. If the door panel is removed (10-15 minutes?), then carefully applying some epoxy resin, or even some hot-melt glue with a gun, should be quite easy, particularly for someone who has removed this type of door panel before. But, the Prius door could be made differently......

  10. No - if you go on the Aygo page on the Toyota website, towards the top right of the page, there is a button 'show all grades', and all four grades are then shown.
