Toyota-wise: a Toyota Century and the money to run it.

That's one beautiful car, I wonder if it comes with a drinks fridge in the back:smile:

Any spam fritters

No Bob, I don't wish to give the appearance of being common.

I thought everyone knew that spam should be served with a truffle emulsion, and a shallot and and asparagus gratin.

Sounds OK to me

Anyone for Black Forest gateau??

Oh aye, I really like that, I think they served in in the Berni inns, after the prawn cocktail and steaks.

Followed by garlic coffees.

Dunno what happened to the Berni inns, but got good memories of them, decent food, and good value.

Berni Inns ended up as Beefeaters.

The most frequently ordered meal in Berni Inns, even as late as the 1980s, was prawn cocktail, steak and Black Forest gateau.

The chain was sold to Grand Metropolitan for £14.5 million in 1970. Berni Inn was sold to Whitbread in 1995, who converted the outlets into their own Beefeater restaurants.
