  1. If you haven't had the car from new, perhaps how well the interior has stood up to usage, depends on how it was treated by a previous owner.

  2. For people querying the rear light installation. Its done with ease by first removing the Dome light which takes about 10 sec, then peeling off the top of the rubber on tbe passenger side and using stiff wire as a "mouse" pulling through my custom cable indide the roof lining. Then peeling off the rubber at the top of the rear hatch opening and then feeding the "mouse" to the rear avoiding snagging the Airbags on the way in the same manor as the front. The Dome would have been already modified and incorporate a floating socket to accept the rear custom cable. In the rear, the mini domes are marked out on the strip of roof lining just in from the hatch opening. Small holes in tbe roof lining are made to occomodate the thread of the mini domes and they sre threaded in and finished off with a securing nut. Connection is made with Wago latchable connectors. The door surrounds are easily restored David

  3. The Auris Hybrid was first introduced in 2010, so the oldest will be 2010. Battery warranty is 8 years/100,000 miles - and with the annual Hybrid Health Check can be extended up to 11 years. One thing to note is that the boot is shallower than the petrol/diesel Auris, due to the battery being beneath the boot floor.

  4. I'm not sure of the details with older Auris, but if the Prius is anything to go by, assuming it was looked after and is in good condition, there is no reason to think it should be any worse.

  5. I tow with a 2008 2.00l Avensis and like you I have a limit of 1300kg. I have travelled up and down the country, towing my van which is 1300mptlm and have had no problem. I, like you, wonder why it is such a low tow weight and someone made the comment on another forum saying he thought it may have something to do with the dual mass flywheel arrangement. I did check with Toyota in case it was a mistake on the V5 form, but they confirmed it was right.

  7. I hadn't thought of that cars not here at the moment. Mrs devonkev is out playing with it. Judging by the traffic around here at moment it could be a while before she's back. At least she isn't using any fuel !!! I will give that a try later.

  9. Our prefacelift has internet connectivity, so I assume the top spec face lifts will also. It's free assuming you have a free data plan like myself on your mobile phone, but is very much phone dependant and doesn't seem to work with many of the major phones out there (iPhones for example). Cheers! Bit confused. So the stereo connectivity need to be streamed via Bluetooth to mobile phone? There is no SIM card slot in stereo? Correct.

  10. Our pre facelift hybrid Yaris came with the can of gunk kit :( but there is still a well for a spare so if you source one yourself, there is somewhere to put it. Not sure if the facelift model still has the well. We hardly ever used the sun roof in the mk1 Yaris so we don't miss it. YMMV The rear camera on the hybrid is pretty good. You can get sensors fitted if you want them. I am guessing at the facelift (or mayby just before?). Our pre facelift has "touch and go 1". The facelift models have "touch and go 2". Although the manual that came with the car has instructions for both. Facelift hybrid Yaris also has a traction control switch which the pre facelift doesn't, and fancy lights on the dash instruments (which I prefer). The pre facelift is more of a "blue rinse".

  11. Go to the connects 2 website, they have most types of adapter for fitting. Your new unit should have provided an ISO harness

  12. There is a cheaper, low mileage option that provides cover for up to 10,000 miles per annum

  13. I'm afraid I do not subscribe to the theory that because it is fully synthetic it must be better. It has better marketing and commands a far higher price! I am being slightly flippant, but to the ordinary car driver who has his car serviced once a year and does the average mileage, I do not see the benefits. There are vehicles that will benefit from a fully synthetic oil, and if you are a high miler, then I could see why you would, but to the average Joe Egg, GOOD QUALITY 5w 30 semi will be just fine and you will save yourself a few quid in the process However, we live in a world where we have a personal choice, and if you feel the need to go fully synthetic, then go for it ;) Kingo
